The University of Southampton Joins the Heritage Alliance

The Alliance is delighted to welcome the University of Southampton as its newest member.

The Department of Archaeology, University of Southampton has an international reputation as a world-leading centre for archaeology, with high profile projects carried out all over the world. It welcomes membership of the Heritage Alliance, which will highlight internationally its position as an emerging centre for Heritage Studies, including an MSc Business and Heritage and new MA in Cultural Heritage Studies (launching 2020).

The Department hosts Archaeology for the Creative Industries which provides expert heritage-based advice, continuing professional development, consultancy, specialist intermediary and research services to the creative industries, MAST which works closely with senior managers, academics, antiquity departments and ministries to promote coastal cultural heritage stewardship in the Arab world, and currently chairs the UNESCO UNITWIN Network for Underwater Archaeology. The Department has strong links to its local community, regional and national heritage organisations with whom it collaborates closely.
