Ofqual – Amending the ‘Taking Regulatory Action’ policy and Consultation on changes to the Conditions of Recognition

The Government is proposing amendments to their policy Taking Regulatory Action (the TRA policy) which explains how they use their powers to take regulatory action in respect of awarding organisations. The proposed amendments are to bring the policy up to date, to reflect the Government’s regulatory strategy and how they use their powers in practice. The policy was first published in 2011 and was revised in 2012. The consultation closes on 2 December 2019.

There is also a Consultation on changes to the Conditions of Recognition

This consultation proposes a number of changes to the Government’s Conditions including, in particular, changes aimed at improving the level of transparency and clarity of qualification fees, as well as changes aimed at improving structure and clarity of wording. The consultation closes on 25 October.
