DCLG has published a series of growth deals in the Northern Powerhouse. These are set up to help fund local enterprise partnerships for projects that benefit the local area and economy.
The 11 local enterprise partnerships in the Northern Powerhouse are:
• Cheshire and Warrington
• Cumbria
• Greater Manchester
• Humber
• Lancashire
• Leeds City Region
• Liverpool City Region
• North East
• Sheffield City Region
• Tees Valley
• York, North Yorkshire and East Riding
Some of the larger programs included in the Growth Deals include a program for investment in cultural assets in Tees Valley intended to boost attractiveness and support restoration for heritage buildings, and a Hull city centre development plan to renovate empty spaces into better used spaces, and a series of skills programs to develop technical skilled workers.
