Mourning Her Majesty The Queen

Policy News

The Royal Family has announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away.

Ruling longer than any other monarch in British history, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was admired and respected by many for her unwavering service and devotion. Celebrations of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee this year highlighted the support of The Queen for heritage and culture, with many institutions having benefitted from her royal patronage.

The Heritage Alliance is deeply saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family as they mourn her loss.

To help our members and the sector navigate this period, we have collated some Government guidance and information below. We will continue to update this as we hear further announcements.

The main source of information is gov.uk. Local Authorities will also be updating their own websites on local commemorative events and how these may impact local businesses or local travel. The Royal Household will set out arrangements on Lying-in-State and the State Funeral, which will be published on the Royal Website.
