Health, Wellbeing and Cultural Heritage: Research, evidence and practice, 12 September 2017

The National Heritage Science Forum (NHSF) is running a free research briefing event “Health, Wellbeing and Cultural Heritage: research, evidence and practice” in partnership with Tate, on 12 September 2017, 17.30-21.00 at Tate Modern.

The event features ‘state of the art’ overviews from a panel of experts from both the health and culture sectors who will present their perspective on existing evidence and what needs to be better understood. Panellists and participants will join a debate on what the outstanding research questions for this topic are, how best to fill research gaps and how to build the evidence base. We aim to ignite curiosity and encourage future contributions to a field that is receiving considerable attention from researchers, funders and government.

We are delighted that Professor Helen Chatterjee (UCL and the National Alliance for Museums Health and Wellbeing), Professor Nick Barratt (Honorary Associate Professor of Public History at the University of Nottingham), Dr Christina Buse (Research Fellow at the Department of Sociology University of York) and Dr Tony Munton (Managing Director, Matrix Evidence) are joining us as panellists.

The seminar will be of particular interest to people already active in the field of heritage science research, as well as researchers and cultural organisations interested in exploring the opportunities for research in cultural heritage and health and wellbeing.

This is a free event, but registration is required.
