Giving To Heritage

Editor News

Giving to Heritage was The Heritage Alliance’s exciting training programme for fundraisers in the heritage sector, which ended in 2017, but its legacy led to many successful heritage projects and initiatives (see the full report on Giving to Heritage programme here). Working in partnership with the Institute of Fundraising, the programme represented a major step change in fundraising to help secure a productive future for many of our heritage assets.

Along with other advice about the training opportunities that have run across the two-year project, over 30 recorded webinars are still available to watch on the website.

In the webinar Individual Giving: Generating Income via Membership Schemes, Jo O’Sullivan, Institute of Fundraising (IoF) Trainer is joined by Heritage & Environment Fundraising Consultant Jo Bussey. They give an overview of the basics of how to introduce and manage a membership scheme – with particular emphasis on organisations on a low budget or that have limited staff resources.

Jo Bussey also provides hints and tips on what to consider prior to introducing a membership scheme, providing examples from her roles as Head of Fundraising at Tullie House Museum and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. The webinar also includes information on data management, membership marketing and events.
