Chris Sutton MA FCA joined the Heritage Alliance as a trustee and treasurer in early 2019. He works as an independent management consultant, focusing on business process and finance transformation. Prior to this, he worked for 13 years at PwC Consulting and then 15 years as a global managing director with Logica. Chris led the successful fundraising for and redevelopment of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum at Hever Castle in 2015 and is a trustee and chair of the museum’s Trust. Chris is also a trustee of All We Can, the international development charity, a visiting lecturer at City University’s Business School, and is a member of the court of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants in the City of London.

Chris brings to the Heritage Alliance his skills in Fund Raising, Commercial and Financial Management, and Operational Effectiveness. He is passionate about smaller heritage organisations and the amazing contribution of so many volunteers who are the lifeblood of the heritage sector across the country. Apart from his loyalties to the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum in the wonderful grounds of Hever Castle, his favourite UK heritage site is St Kilda in the Outer Hebrides. His is also a keen student of the heritage of food and drink. Chris studied classics at university and his favourite heritage writer is Herodotus - he was the master storyteller, and storytelling is the essence of our heritage.
